Jodi Reeb-Myers

Jodi Reeb-Myerss Representational Image
“"My work is about creating healing and harmony that reflects my community. I believe that art can minimize the effects of illness using metaphors for healing. The work I do is very symbolic such as nests signifying nurturing, and leaves and trees associated with seasonal transitions. The house thresholds are second chances. The hands are the support we need in times of growth. The houses are extensions of ourselves as safe havens and sanctuaries, and the figures are stepping out of the box breaking old patterns and emerging. By layering people images within nature or neighborhoods, I want to describe the process of change within the environments. I try to describe this transformation by integrating different media such as paint, collage and printmaking".
