Artist's Biography - Paul Jennis
Paul Jennis
Paul Jennis, the newest member of our famed Harley-Davidson team of Artists, has quite a flair with the paintbrush. He has been intimately involved in art circles for many years. His expertise has been in portraits and wildlife. Paul's wife Pauline, seven-year-old daughter Jennifer and four-year-old son Austin provide tremendous inspiration. Pauline is a teacher of pre-school, special needs children.
Paul Jennis' education as an artist began at the Art Students League in New York City. To expand his artistic capabilities he attended the Rhode Island School of Design, School of Visual Arts and finally Syracuse University where he earned his B.F.A. and attended a Masters Program. Paul Jennis' abilities as an artist were immediately recognized and his workload began to pile up. Clients such as Tor Books, Bantam, Simon Shuster, Golf Magazine and CBS Sports were all vying for his services. It was not long before the collectable industry came calling. To no one's surprise, Paul became one of the most successful artists for The Bradford Exchange and Franklin Mint. A series of twenty-four plates depicting Paul's artwork of "Gone With the Wind" images stands today as one of the most successful plate series in Bradford history. Numerous awards from the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers, along with his museum installations have added to Mr. Jennis' stature as an artist. Commissioned work includes projects for The Civil War Trust and the White House. Paul's Portrait of the President and Vice President was made into an official print. Paul has captured the likeness of several celebrities as well as many private commissions. One of his favorite and somewhat unusual tasks was to paint the portrait of one of the fastest and most famous trotting horses of all time, Malabar Man. Segal Fine Art is excited to introduce Paul Jennis as the newest member of the officially licensed artists of Harley-Davidson. Paul states "I think the combination of Harleys, wildlife and beautiful landscapes is a good mix and I look forward to rendering some engaging ideas on canvas. My hope is to depict a true sense of the Harley lifestyle and convey the dedication that riders share." If Paul's first print release, "Call of the Wild", is any indication of things to come, we are in for a fun ride. Bring it on Paul! |
